Do you ship to Germany?
Yes. Please email for shipping costs and payments at: email@example.com or use the "Ask seller a question link" on article description pages.
Visit our "Terms" page and see "GERMAN BUYERS -- SHIPPING & PAYMENTS".
Will you combine multiple purchases?
Yes, of course. We do this manually after packaging the items together to determine the cost to your location. Please visit our "Terms" page for instructions using the link at the bottom of this page. On rare occasions, an item may not be safe to combine, but this will be noted in the description.
Can you ship USPS Priority Mail instead of USPS First Class Mail?
Yes, of course. Priority Mail is faster, but more expensive (starting at $5.10). This may be cost prohibitive for inexpensive, small lightweight items. Example: A 12-ounce package shipped Priority Mail from Maryland to Los Angeles costs about $5.95 vs. $3.24 First Class. Please contact us with your address and items of interest for a quote.
Do you have more German Erzgebirge available than in your online store?
Yes. We have much more pre-WWII German Erzgebirge people, animals, horse-drawn carts, wagons, villages, landscaping etc. and collector rarities in assorted scales and materials.
Email or phone with any items you are seeking. Please include the approximate age and scale desired. If you are uncertain of the age or are adding to a set such as animals for Noah's Ark, an emailed photo would be helpful and we can also see the quality grade which varied.
Can you recommend a collector's book for antique and vintage German Erzgebirge?
Yes. Our favorite comprehensive reference book is "Spielzeug aus dem Erzgebirge" by Karen Helling, 1999, in German Language Only.
It is an outstanding book for the serious collector and is primarily focused on pre-WWII collectibles. It is filled with history and photographs including some from manufacturers' catalogs and dates of production. It can be readily purchased from Germany and sometimes from the U.K. for about the equivalent of $60-75. See Resources below. IMPORTANT: Be certain to look for this author's name ---- Karen Helling ---- as there is another book with the same title.
Can you provide resources for purchasing Erzgebirge collector books?
Yes. Most Erzgebirge collector books are published in Germany and are in the German language. Several resources:
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1) www.amazon.de - Germany's Amazon.
2) www.eBay.de - Germany's eBay. 3) www.verlagsgruppe.de - German website with an excellent variety of Erzgebirge, Christmas, folk art and many other specialty collector books. They also have a store "verlagsgruppe" on eBay.de. Consider land/sea shipping if offered. It can be much slower, but is less expensive.
Do you purchase German Erzgebirge Collectibles?
Yes, we purchase pre-1940 collectibles that are well preserved. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________

3) Springing - leaping forest animals.

Do you recycle?
Although this isn't a FAQ, we thought we would discuss recycling here.
We almost always use new exterior shipping boxes as our items are typically fragile and we want to ensure safe transit. Please consider re-using them. For interior double-boxing, we use used boxes whenever possible. When our current supply of packing peanuts runs out, we will begin using recyclable cornstarch peanuts and a note will be included so you can dispose of appropriately.
